Weekend Recap + This Week's Goals

For a Monday, today couldn't get much better. I guess that's what happens when you're a student and don't really work during the summer. The day's not even close to being over and I've already gotten a nice little workout in, so I don't feel guilty at all for planning to stay on the couch for the rest of the afternoon with Say Yes to the Dress playing in the background.

Actually, I've basically been doing this for the past two or three days now (minus the reality TV). But before you start judging me for  being a lazy bum, here's a recap of the exciting things I've been up to, too!

If you've never been the movies solo, I totally suggest it.

On Friday I took myself out to the show to see Amy Schumer's new movie Trainwreck. Now, of course this movie may not be your favorite if you're a *typical southern belle* (what does that even mean?) or a bit more conservative. You'll probably hate it if you can't laugh at sex jokes. Obviously I knew what kind of humor to expect (Have y'all seen this sketch from Inside Amy Schumer?, it really made me lol.)  and I thought it was pretty funny. I think every conservative "classy" girl out there secretly wishes to be a little bit like Amy Schumer. A little less buttoned up, a little more carefree.

Also, about the movie, it was really funny! I laughed soooo much and actually caught myself tearing up quite a bit.

The name Nelle (Harper Lee's real first name) is now at the top of my baby name list.

If y'all have spent more than fifteen minutes on this blog (or follow me on snapchat), you've probably realized I'm a book worm. I've been looking forward to reading Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman since I first heard about it in February. A few days before the new book was released, I decided to reread To Kill a Mockingbird just to refresh myself with the characters.

Even after reading the reviews (spoiler alert, Atticus has aged and is now somewhat racist), I was optimistic, and I have to say, I was not disappointed. I was surprised how even though it was very different, I was able to relate to it as much as the first one. The whole time I was reading it, I couldn't help but think to myself: "I am Scout. I'm totally Jean Louise Finch."

Now, onto my ever-growing to-do list!

I'm only putting this up here so I can actually make myself check everything off!

Trips to the campus rec center have become a part of my daily routine (I know, I'm just as shocked as you must be). It's not as bad as it sounds. Today I went in and started out by jamming to BeyoncĂ© and then remembered that the Open was on. I spent the second half of my workout not-so-silently cheering on Jordan Spieth. I'm probably the only person who can actually get pumped up while watching such a "dull" sport.

Also, there are approximately 7,000 emails in my inbox, so that's what I'm doing on my couch today. Totally being productive while saying yes to the dress #Multitasking.

What's going on this week for y'all?
